What I’ve been listening to….

This week my tour with Matt Nathanson started & I got back in the van after almost a month of bus touring life with Andy Grammer & crew. Van life is SO different. Better in some ways because of the freedom it allows you on the road, definitely worse in other ways because of 10 hour bus chasing drives you have to make through storms (happened the other night after an amazing show in Tulsa, and I had to leave the show early and miss out on signing autographs with kind patient fans who I assured I would come back out for). Sadness. One part I missed about van life is all the listening and sharing of music you do with each other. Sooo…here’s what has been on our iPods this week:

  1. Robyn: Robyn (I’m so so obsessed with this album, I can’t believe i missed it when it came out). Pop perfection, those swedes have magic over there.
  2. Kirk Franklin (this is my happy music. Gospel in general just does it for me, but this live album in particular is guaranteed happiness in 3 minutes).
  3. Belle Brigade: Loser in particular is killing me, I want to cover it so much.
  4. Paul Simon: Graceland - my all time favorite album and best road trip / touring album maybe ever. I challenge you to find a better one.
  5. Drake: Take Care. I know this isn’t the best most innovative hip hop album ever, but something about his voice I dig. And hey, he’s a jew, so bonus for me

And there you have it. I’ll try to remember & post more soon.

Good night moon.
